Our Coach - John Clancy

John brings a wealth of credentials to the coaching arena. His vast experience in the fields of Sport and Physical Education, Coaching and Mentoring are highly valued by athletes and are pivotal to the success of the Clancy Coaching training model.

John’s personal sporting success extends back to high school where he played in 9 representative sports at Regional level. He continued this success at State level in several sports. Much of John’s empathy for athletes around physical conditioning stems from his professional Rugby League playing career with the Toowoomba Clydesdales, Redcliffe Dolphins and as the Captain of the Australian Tertiary Rugby League team, winning the 1989 World Cup in York.

John has been teaching Physical Education in schools for over 25 years. Within this time, he has coached thousands of Cross Country and Track and Field athletes to State and National level and is a highly successful and respected Head Coach and Master-in- Charge of school programs.

Over the course of John’s career, he has been awarded the ACHPER Qld Secondary Teacher’s award
